1. Information We Collect

Account Information

You can play as a guest or create an account. Guest mode creates an anonymous app account with an assigned user ID and generated display name. If you create or link an account, we collect your email address and display name.

Game Data

We collect gameplay data such as scores, game duration, combo counts, game sessions, inventory state, streaks, and leaderboard statistics. This data is used to run the game, maintain leaderboards, prevent abuse, and save your progress.

Purchase Information

In-app purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive and store purchase status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription entitlement status, and related inventory changes so we can grant play packs and premium access.

Device, Usage, and Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage, including app launches, screen views, feature interactions, game starts, game results, shop actions, purchase status events, app instance identifiers, coarse region, device information, app version, language, and operating system information. Analytics collection is enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings.

Crash Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information such as crash logs, app version, device information, operating system information, and app user ID. Crash data may be linked to your app account so we can diagnose and fix issues.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, secure, and maintain the game
  • To manage accounts, inventory, purchases, and premium access
  • To display leaderboards and save progress
  • To detect abuse, prevent score manipulation, and protect fair play
  • To understand product usage and improve the game
  • To diagnose crashes, bugs, and performance issues
  • To respond to support requests

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your data for cross-app tracking. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the app:

  • Firebase / Google: authentication, analytics, crash reporting, diagnostics, and related infrastructure
  • RevenueCat: in-app purchase and subscription entitlement management
  • Apple: App Store payment processing, subscriptions, refunds, and purchase management

4. Data Retention

  • Account, inventory, purchase, and gameplay data is retained while your account is active or while needed to operate the game and maintain records.
  • When you delete your account, email address and display name are removed from your profile. Some anonymous or operational records may be retained for leaderboard integrity, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, and service reliability.
  • Crash and analytics data is retained according to Firebase and Google Analytics retention settings and service policies.

5. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Access your visible account and progress data in the Profile screen
  • Delete your account in Profile > Delete Account
  • Turn off analytics in Settings
  • Manage subscriptions through Apple account subscription settings
  • Contact us at [email protected] for privacy requests

6. Children's Privacy

Gub in the Box is rated 4+ and does not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. Guest mode is available without providing an email address. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for data transmission. Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth. We do not store account passwords. Authentication tokens are managed by Firebase.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If the changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
